What is Paintless Dent Repair?
PDR is the process of removing small, minor dents from your car’s body without the invasive process like traditional dent fillers and repairs. Typically PDR is a much quicker and cheaper than the alternative processes that body shops offer. Dent’s often don’t pose a threat to your car’s safety, so this process is simply for an aesthetic fix. That being said, keep in mind that PDR simply provides a visual fix, but cannot completely repair your car’s metal damage done beneath the paint surface. While it appears to be in perfect shape, the metal will still be slightly damaged underneath, which honestly won’t affect the car in most cases anyways.

How Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Works?
Basically, the process of removing dents is done through gently massaging the dent from the back and front of the body panels. Special tools are utilized for the procedure. You can order kits for a DIY project, but keep in mind if you stretch the metal too far, scratch the paint, or do further damage to your vehicle, then you are looking at a much higher bill than if you had it done by someone with experience (Disclaimer: We promise that is NOT a sales pitch, we’ve just seen it happen one too many times. Don’t say we didn’t tell ya.) Often times, layers of panels must be removed to reach the other side of the dent. The location, severity, and amount of dents all factor into the price and time it takes to perform the PDR procedure. The body shop technicians should be able to give you an estimate after the initial assessment of the damage. However, the process can usually be done in a relatively short amount of time.
